Marrakech is blessed with many excellent restaurants to suit all pockets most of which are licensed and accept cards. We have no commercial links with these & so are able to give impartial but personal recommendations. We would not comment on any restaurant where we have not personally dined.
The Square is surrounded by inexpensive restaurant cafés most of which have a terrace or open directly onto the street. They are not licensed.
We are located just 5 or 6 minutes from The Square which is transformed every evening by the erection of 60 street food stalls serving BBQ grills, tagines & couscous dishes for the tourists & Moroccan food for the locals. A fun evening & just alongside the musicians, magicians, dancers & street entertainers that appear in the evening. Most evenings the Square is crowded & throbbing with life.
Every bedroom in the riad contains a ‘manual’ with reviews of local places to eat as well as information on places to visit, negotiating in the Souks, tipping convention etc. A map of the Medina and a map with directions of how to find the Riad are supplied to guests on arrival with the welcome mint tea & homemade biscuits.
